    Sunflowers!

    2010 - 02.15

I received a bouquet of Sunflowers the other day – what a glorious burst of sunshine during the winter with all the snow still around. Of course I just had to paint them… so is it Irises next?

    The Lover Bee

    2010 - 02.13

When a bee approaches a luring flower, he believes he’s gonna get real lucky. I am truly rooting that these innocent Passionates are the most satisfied Romeos this loving season. Just another aspect of necessity for more Love …

    Happy Valentines !!

    Free At The Beach

    2010 - 02.13

I love to see dogs on the beach – when they are running free and chasing each other in pure fun! Sometimes they get that crazy happy surge and rip up the laps around you, stop suddenly and look around like ” YEAH! That felt so good!” I may have to paint a lot more of these.

    Food Pyramid #1

    2010 - 02.12

It’s two days to Valentines day; why is it just one day long?
Well, Mother Hubbard went to the cupboard last night, and this was the food pyramid that presented itself. There are five hearts in this painting, find them all!

    Aspen Trees #1

    2010 - 02.11

On the way to my cabin in the woods there’s a coulple of places where Aspen trees flourish and have a different beauty at different times of the year. I love that their root system is all connected (deep down, connected at the heart?) yet they can stand individually.
This is painting #16 and I am certain I will do more like this. In it there are two Mountain Chikadees, a Bear Claw mark, an Aholiba Underwing moth, and of course – a heart. (Thanks to my neighbors for suggesting the Bear Claw mark!)

    Aspens In Progress

    2010 - 02.10

I was feeling very ambitious last night and in a passion started this HUGE painting of Aspen tree trunks . I’m enjoying it so much that, like a true gourmand, I’m going to relish the details of this painting for a couple of days! So here it is in progress …. Happy Wednesday!

p.s. I failed every math class, but something tells me I’m doing okay on time…

    Clay Bells and Jeweled Ears

    2010 - 02.09

I feel that everything I’ve done has led me to doing this – I’m immersed in the flow of exploring endless images. Each one could give me a lifetime of paintings…
Painting #14 is a clay bell that I’ve had for a while; I’ve always wondered who, what and where it comes from (anyone know?) – it’s such an odd and imaginative thing! “Clay Bell ” 16″ by 20 “.

Painting # 15 is a Jeweled Ear. Say no more. 7″ by 21″

    Thinking about horses

    2010 - 02.08

I’ve been thinking about the sad situation of the all wild horses being rounded up in Nevada and other states (do we really need to eat that much beef ?). You can understand what a horse is communicating by watching his body language, especially his ears and eyes.
I got carried away last night and painted this somewhere between yesterday and today…
